But in Zeewolde lies Tulip Island. The peninsula, shaped like a tulip, is a real eye-catcher. The main island, the calyx, is the size of a soccer field, while the elongated islands of nature form the stem of the tulip. A solid 200-meter breakwater connects the island to the mainland. To celebrate Zeewolde’s 40th anniversary, the Tulip Island off the coast at Wolderwijd was brightened with thousands of flower bulbs.<\/p>\n
Although Tulip Island is not along the usual tulip route, it is definitely worth a visit. It is the hot spot for taking a colorful photo.<\/p>\n
