The bloomometer!

The tulips are blooming beautifully, but we are already seeing fields being cut. After the weekend of King's Day, the number of blooming fields will decrease rapidly. Still want to enjoy the splash of color? Then don't wait too long!

Looking back: the Saturdays

of Tuliptime

On April 12th and 19th, we celebrated ‘the Saturdays of Tulpentijd’. During the period when the tulips were in full bloom, numerous activities took place in the rural areas and towns of Flevoland.

On April 12th, the first Saturday of Tulpentijd, the center of Lelystad was buzzing with tulip-themed activities. Visitors enjoyed the Tulpen Kunst Route, tasted local delicacies at the regional market, and were entertained by music and spoken word performances at the Tulp Kick stage. Children tested their climbing skills on the 8-meter-high climbing wing of Zwaan Buitensport.

On April 19th, the second Saturday of Tulpentijd took place at the Suydersee shopping center in Dronten. Here, visitors discovered the blooming and tasty offerings at the regional and plant market, picked fresh tulip bouquets at the Tulpen Pluk Route, and watched the cycling race and the Dikke Bandenrace at Meerpaalplein.

What a celebration it was!

Together with our volunteers, we worked hard to make this colorful edition of the flower festival a success. Once again, countless visitors from all over the country and beyond came to Flevoland to admire the tulip beauty firsthand.

Tulip Art Route

The Tulip Art Route also closed. Visitors were inspired by Flevoland artists during the Tulip Art Route. The free audio tour, compiled by the Lelystad poetry circle “De Dijkdichters,” was available to everyone. The route ran from Dukaatplein (opposite Lelystad Centrum NS Station, via De Kroonpassage to Stadhuisplein, to exhibition space KRUL and was accessible from April 12 through May 3.
