General information

The audio tour passes all 39 artworks of the Tulip Art Route in the windows of Shopping Center Suydersee, in Dronten. The tour has no set starting or ending point, so you can start at the first artwork you come across. So you can also enjoy the audio tour in parts.

You only need to turn on the audio tour in ECHOES.xyz once, then the sound moves with you. While in use, you can see on the map in the ECHOES.xyz where you are walking, what audio fields are around you and what artworks are being discussed in each field.

The audio tour is available from approximately 12:30 p.m. on April 13 through April 5, 2024

Regarding technology

To use the audio tour, you will need the app ECHOES.xyz.

You can find ECHOES.xyz by scanning the QR code at one of the artworks to get to the audio tour information page. At the bottom of that page are links to download ECHOES.xyz.

Does this not work to your satisfaction. E.g. because the link is missing or your phone asks
still ask for credit card information, break this off and go to your app store or
Google Play and search for the app ECHOES.xyz (see logo above). Install
ECHOES.xyz and search using the search function (lens) in the app: Tulip Art
route 2024.

Starting on site

  • Turn on your locator (and set as precisely as possible).
  • Turn on your Wi-Fi (This helps your phone determine your location even more accurately).
  • Once you open your ECHOES.xyz, the route appears automatically. If not search “Tulip Art Route 2024.
  • Then start the audio route.

Tips for use

  • Check the map in the App regularly. There you can see where you are, according to your phone, in Suydersee shopping center, where audio clips are available around you, and which way to walk to get to a particular field.
  • You can click the audio fields on the map in the ECHOES.xyz to see which artworks are shown in that particular field. You will also find references to the artists’ websites there.
  • If your phone has trouble estimating your location correctly, try tapping the “LOCATE ME” button.
  • Use stereo headphones or earphones so you don’t disturb others. With stereo, you will enjoy the sound clips even more. Especially where it consists of multiple voices. And also of the expansive, spatial audio unmistakably associated with the inspiration of Flevoland’s artists.
  • If you have a small data bundle, you may wish to download ECHOES.xyz (+/-20mb) and the Tulip Art Route audio tour (+/- 180mb) in advance via Wi-Fi.
