The time has come: starting April 8, visitors can once again enjoy the colorful seas of tulips in the outlying areas of Almere, Dronten, Lelystad and Zeewolde. Also on Saturday, April 4, the Tulip Art Route officially opened in the city center of Almere during the first Saturday of the Tulip Season.
The Saturdays of Tulip Time
Saturday, April 11, marks the Saturday of Tulip Time in Dronten. Discover all the delicious and blooming things the Flevopolder has to offer at the plant market, pick a fresh bunch of tulips for home during the Tulip Picking Route and catch the start or finish of the Dikke banden race on the Meerpaalplein. Other activities include the charity spinning marathon and the balance bike race if you’re small enough. April 18 is the third Saturday of Tulip Time in Lelystad’s Stadshart. Enjoy several vibrant performances on the UTO stage, stroll past the booths and view Tulip art.
On the road with The Tulip Routes Tulip Route Flevoland takes you through no less than 8 different cycling, walking and driving routes along the most beautiful tulip fields in Flevoland. And how fun is it that during your ride, thanks to our audio tour, you are updated on the history of Flevoland, the growth of tulips and what you see around you? Along the way, you can stop at various locations to stretch your legs, eat a nice ice cream, tap a bottle of fresh farm milk or pick a fresh pick-your-own bunch, for example.
From April 8, tickets for the routes will be available through the website. The routes can be downloaded via the special Tulip Route Flevoland app.
Tickets for the routes cost €6.00 (car) through the website only. The walking and cycling routes are free.
The Tulip Art Route
The Tulip Art Route in Almere’s city center is also open For three weeks, art lovers can be inspired by an exhibition of Flevoland artists in Almere’s city center. This free route includes, like last year, an audio tour again. Tickets for the Tulip Art Route can be downloaded from the website.
Tulip Run
Every year during the tulip season in April, Flevo Delta organizes the recreational running event the “Tulip Run. The 5 or 10 km routes lead past the blooming bulb fields on April 18. Participants will receive a bunch of tulips upon completion and coffee will be ready in the Kalverschuur. Sign up on time; there is room for 250 participants. Full=full.
