Tulip Art Route open through May 4 / Other routes of Tulip Route Flevoland closed

26 April 2024

The car, bike and walking routes of Tulip Route Flevoland are closed. This year’s Tulip Route Flevoland took place earlier than usual due to unexpected weather conditions and remarkably rapid growth. All the tulip fields have been pretty much cut, now the bulbs have the time and space to continue growing, for harvest in two months.

The Tulpen Kunst Route [Tulip Art Route] in downtown Dronten will remain on display through Saturday, May 4. Through the store windows of business owners, tulip art can be enjoyed in shop windows. The stories behind these works can be listened to via a free audio tour, accessible via a QR code at each artwork. More information about the Tulip Art Route can be found at www.tulpenrouteflevoland.nl.

The 2023 edition started later than planned due to weather conditions and slow growth of tulips. But this year the organizers were surprised by once again variable weather conditions and this time rapid growth of the tulips which necessitated an early start.

Nevertheless, the event again welcomed many visitors from home and abroad. Not every visitor’s Tulip Route Flevoland app worked flawlessly. Hopefully, with directions on the paper version of the route map, we still managed to have a nice ride through Flevoland.

The organization of Tulip Route Flevoland thanks all those involved who made this event a success. The event is made possible by enthusiastic volunteers, participating businesses along the route, activity providers, starting locations, municipalities, partners and, of course, sponsors.

Any new volunteers who would also like to contribute to Tulip Route Flevoland can apply to the organization at contact@tulpenrouteflevoland.nl. Whether it’s drawing out car routes, coming up with activities or setting out bike route posts.
